Can Screach help your charitable organisation?

Ever since joining Screenreach last summer, one thing Paul, our CEO, and I have talked about is our hope of one day setting up the Screach Foundation. We were inspired by the Salesforce Foundation model, which works on the premise of investing 1% time, 1% product and 1% equity to support organisations that are working to make our world a better place. It really struck a chord – what a brilliantly simple approach to looking beyond our own bubble to try and make a difference to communities that need our help.

Now you may be asking how a start-up in their first year of business can afford to give to charity, and you’d be right on an equity front – we’re not yet in that position; but beyond money, one thing we can offer is our time and product. We’re enjoying rapid growth in the number of team members at Screenreach and a crucial part of that progress is developing a culture where everyone is keen to get involved – we are a team eager to get on board with fun, worthwhile projects that will help communities beyond the four walls of our office.

When it comes to our product, Screach is a powerful tool that can be used in many ways and we’re already in discussions with different charities and community projects about how they can utilise the platform to add a new dynamic to their campaigns and events. One of our objectives on this front is to develop a screach experience to offer on – this fantastic service seeks to coordinate the development and distribution of public service ads, to help raise funds and sustain awareness for the victims of disasters around the world. Content developers upload their media to the site, which is then selected by DOOH networks and included in their rotations across the globe – all at no cost, with the intention of stimulating public giving. Our CSO, David Weinfeld, has been involved with doohgood since its inception.

David told us: “DOOHGood is an amazing initiative supported by countless people and companies across our industry. It is a testament to DOOH how quickly and effectively we were able to create and distribute content to support Japanese tsunami relief.

The work of DOOHGood is expanding with the support of the DPAA and other organizations throughout the DOOH media sector. It’s an effort that continues to gain momentum through the collaborative work of many to use the power of DOOH to raise awareness for great causes.”

So now we’re starting to formalise our vision and build a plan, the next step is to find projects that could benefit from the power of our people!
